Take a spotless pan/ kadhai/ wok and place it on the stove. The utensil could be of your choice but must consider the lip option. Adding an appropriate quantity of water to the utensil and cooking for the correct duration helps in making them fluffy and properly soaked. Some rice needs soaking time whereas some do not. Moreover, in this boiled rice recipe, we are not going to soak rice in water. Salt could be added as per choice and taste. More often, people prefer preparing boiled rice without salt but as per the recipe mentioned below, we are using salt in it.

The lower the flame the better is rice cooked. Once cooked do not remove the lid of the utensil and let the steam do its magic. You MAY add butter as per your choice.

  • 1 Kadhai / Wok to prepare rice (with lid)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Rice
  • 2 Cups Water
  • 1 Tsp Salt or as per Taste

Notes

To prepare rice you may follow these simple steps: 
  • Take rice and wash the rice thoroughly 
  • Take a pan/ kadhai/ wok and place it on flame.
  • Add water to the utensil and bring it to a boil. 
  • Now, to it, add salt and add the rinsed rice. 
  • Stir properly and cover with a lid.
  • Bring it to a boil and then let rice boil on simmer for approximately the next 15 minutes or until water is completely absorbed.
  • Take off the flame and let it rest for 4 to 5 minutes to steam cook.
 
Your rice is ready to be served. Serve hot with Rajma, Chhole, Chicken Curry, Manchurian, or Kadhi.
